Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Drive

 

SRCC is once again partnering with Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child to bless children in need around the world this Christmas!

Please consider packing a shoebox of items worth $25 for either a boy or a girl in the age category of 5 to 9 years old. Shoeboxes will be available for pickup outside Hyssop Hall after service on Sundays starting October 27.

HOW TO PACK YOUR SHOEBOX

  1. Shoeboxes are available for pickup outside Hyssop Hall after both services on Sundays.

  2. Select one “wow” item to put in the box (see “Ideas for Shoebox Gifts” below).

  3. Fill the box with other toys, hygiene items, and school supplies (see “Ideas for Shoebox Gifts” below).

  4. Pray for the child that will be receiving your gift. You may include a personal note and photo.

  5. Make a $9 donation to cover shipping and project costs here or send directly using the pamphlet/envelope provided with the shoebox.

  6. Drop off your shoebox (details below).

Ideas for Shoebox Gifts

  • “Wow” Item - soccer ball with pump, doll, stuffed animal, musical instrument, shoes

  • Toys - toy cars, jump ropes, yo-yos, toys that light up and make noise (with extra batteries)

  • Non-liquid hygiene items - toothbrushes, washcloths, combs, bar soap

  • School Supplies - pens, pencils, sharpeners, crayons, markers, notebooks, papers, coloring and picture books, solar calculators

  • Accessories - socks, hats, sunglasses, jewelry, watches, flashlights (with extra batteries), hair clips

Please DO NOT include: candy, toothpaste, gum, used or damaged items, war-related items, seeds, food, liquids, lotions, medications, vitamins, breakable items, glass containers, aerosol cans
