TRAINING INFO

  • Weekly Zoom training sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings, 7:30-10:00 PM, except on the week each month when the monthly in-person training session is held. 

  • Monthly in-person training sessions will be held outdoors at the KDC campus on Saturday mornings, 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM on the following dates: Feb 27, Apr 3, May 1, and May 29.

    You must take a COVID-19 test on the week of these in-person sessions at KDC and be willing to attend these mandatory sessions. We will also require you to wear masks and exercise social distancing as best as possible at these sessions.

  • DT Retreat will be held in-person outdoors at the KDC campus on Mar 5-7. The same safety guidelines outlined above for monthly in-person training sessions will also be enforced for the retreat. Full attendance is mandatory.

  • Participants are expected to complete a 7-10 day outreach trip after finishing DT. Due to COVID-19, you will have 2 years to complete the outreach portion.

  • We will be limiting the number of DT participants this year.

IMPORTANT DATES

  • Application Deadline: Thurs, Dec 31

  • First Day of Training / Orientation: Wed, Jan 27

  • In-person training sessions: Feb 27, Apr 3, May 1, and May 29 (8AM-12PM).

  • DT Retreat: Fri, Mar 5 (7-10PM), Sat, Mar 6 (8AM-10PM) & Sun, Mar 7 (2-10PM)

  • Last Day of Training / Final Exam: Wed, Jun 2

ABSENCE POLICY

Attendance at the four in-person sessions and the DT retreat is mandatory. One excused absence from Zoom training sessions is permitted for the duration of the course.

Emergency situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

COURSE FEE

$100 - Covers expenses for all sessions, textbooks and retreat. Collected at the start of DT.

If you are married and both you and your spouse are applying for DT this year, you must both fill out an application individually.
