Discipleship Pathway

Our Discipleship Pathway consists of three stages: Discovery Course (Pre-DT), Discipleship Training (DT), and Leadership Training (LT). Please read the description below to determine which course is the right next step for you. 

Discovery Course (Pre-DT)

Discovery Course is designed for those who are exploring Christianity or new to the Christian faith. Participants will learn the basic foundations of the Christian faith, memorize 31 key Bible verses, and read selected portions of Scripture together.

  • Length: 14-weeks (offered year-round)

  • Who can join: Open to everyone

  • Curriculum: Adapted from Navigators' "Life-to-Life" discipleship materials

  • Format: Lay leaders will facilitate gender-segregated groups of three to four participants.

Discipleship Training (DT)

Discipleship Training is designed for baptized church members who desire to deepen their faith. Participants will study key topics in Christian discipleship and doctrine, memorize 57 Bible verses, learn how to interpret and apply Scripture, complete weekly readings (~30 pages per week) and read through the entire Bible. 

  • Dates: Wed or Thurs evenings, Sept 14 - June 5 (37-weeks)

  • Prerequisites: baptism, membership, possible interview

  • Curriculum: Teleios Discipleship by Pastor Oh Jung-hyun

    • Volume 1: The Foundations of Teleios Disciple

    • Volume 2: The Doctrines of a Teleios Disciple

    • Volume 3: The Life of a Teleios Disciple

    • Supplement: The Disciple and Outreach (includes a mission/outreach project)

  • Format: Assistant pastors will lead gender-segregated groups of five to seven participants.

Leadership Training (LT)

Leadership Training is for those who have completed Discipleship Training and desire to be further equipped for Christian ministry and leadership. Participants will deepen their understanding of the gospel and the church, read through the entire Bible, learn how to articulate and defend their faith, identify their ministry gifts, and receive practical training in leading small groups.

  • Dates: Wed evenings, Sept 21 - June 5 (37-weeks) 

  • Prerequisite: Discipleship Training

  • Curriculum: Teleios Discipleship by Pastor Oh Jung-hyun

    • Volume 1: The Gospel: The Power of God

    • Volume 2: The Church: The Community of Teleios Disciples

    • Supplement: Ministry Gift Seminar

    • Volume 3: Ministry in the Field: Small Groups

    • Supplement: The Disciple and Outreach

  • Format: The senior pastor will lead the co-ed group.
