While our Sunday doors have remained closed since March last year, our hearts have remained opened in pouring compassion and love to our church family and local neighbors.
HolyWave Sunday Service Limited Reopening
Updated May 21, 2021
IMPORTANT: HolyWave is adhering to different timelines and protocols at KDC than the Korean-speaking congregation at the Main Campus. Please note that the following guidelines and procedures apply only to HolyWave’s 1st and 2nd worship services at KDC.
Volunteer on Sundays
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Sunday volunteers are being coordinated as a separate team. If you are interested in helping out during our limited in-person Sunday worship services, please contact Sally Kim at kimsally@sarang.com to be added to the volunteer list! We are always looking for volunteers to help with check-in, greeting, sanitation, parking, and media.
Pre-Registrations + Check-ins
In order to limit the number of people allowed in Hyssop Hall each week, advance registration will be required to attend Sunday service in person. You will then be required to check in before entering on the day of. Seats will be assigned when you check in.
Social Distancing and Masks Required
We ask everyone to be mindful of others, practice social distancing, and wear a face covering at all times. Masks can be provided on-site if you do not have one when you arrive.
Follow the Markers
Arrows and other signs will mark the flow of traffic in order to prevent crowding. Please be sure to follow these markers when navigating on campus.
Understanding risks
Though we are implementing as many safety measures as we can, please note that, if you choose to attend in person, there is still an inherent risk of being exposed to the coronavirus in spite of these measures.
Safety Measures and Guidelines
Before You Arrive
We encourage you to stay home and NOT register if you have traveled (unless vaccinated), been in contact with a confirmed COVID-19 patient, or have been/are sick within the past 2 weeks; or if you have any pre-existing conditions or are pregnant.
Registrations are limited to 70 people and will be taken at a first-come, first-serve basis. There is no waitlist, so please be sure to cancel your registration if you are no longer able to attend, to allow others the opportunity to register (see how to cancel in FAQ below). We will not be accepting any registrations beyond the limit.
When You Arrive
Please park in Lot 2. (Where is Lot 2?) Lot 1 is reserved for children/youth drop-offs and Sunday volunteers. Lots 3 and 4 are closed until further notice.
Check in at the entrance. If you did not pre-register, you can register on the spot in order to check in.
During check-in, your temperature will be checked by a volunteer with a contactless thermometer. You will be asked to leave if your temperature exceeds 100°F. Masks and hand sanitizers will be available at check-in as well.
You will be assigned seating at check-in. When getting seated, please sit in the marked seats only unless you are a family unit/couple (see #5 below).
Families/couples may sit in a single row without distancing. However, that row will no longer be available for seating to others. Please seat yourselves STARTING with your assigned seat.
Children are welcome by your own discretion, but childcare will not be available. The side cry rooms will also not be available for use.
During Service
Masks are required at all times, including the duration of the service.
All doors (side, back) will remain open to allow as much ventilation as possible.
To minimize contact, we will not be passing around offering baskets. Instead, please continue to either give online or drop off your offering in the provided box located at the entrance.
We encourage you to avoid using the restrooms if at all possible. However, in the case you do need to use them, restrooms have been upgraded with automatic faucets, soap dispensers, and paper towel dispensers.
After Service
Please exit through the side doors only and maintain at least 6-8 ft. distance from others.
Please be sure to vacate the premises as quickly as possible to allow space for those arriving after you (K-College will be occupying Hyssop Hall after 2nd Service).
The Hyssop Hall entrance, sanctuary, and restrooms will be sanitized with electric ULV sprayers.
Do Your Part: Self-Reporting
Please help us keep our community safe! If you test positive for COVID-19 within a week of attending a service, please be sure to contact Pastor David Kim at davidswkim@sarang.com as soon as possible.
FAQ
Can I volunteer on Sundays?
Yes please! We are always looking for volunteers to help with check-in, greeting, sanitation, parking, and media. Sunday volunteers are being specially coordinated and recruited apart from our usual Sunday ministries (i.e. if you served pre-covid, you are not automatically part of this volunteer list unless you first reach out) so that we can adhere to all our adjusted safety measures. If you are interested in serving on Sundays during this season, please contact Sally Kim at kimsally@sarang.com for all the details and to be added to our volunteer list!
How do I register for Sunday services?
Registration links are available on this page (button above), on our front homepage, and the app. Registrations will be open on a weekly basis, meaning you will only be able to register for the upcoming Sunday service each week. Registrations for the upcoming Sunday will open at 12 AM on Mondays and close after 2nd Service each week.
Is there a registration limit?
Yes. Registrations will be limited to 70 people each week. We will continue monitoring the situation along with local/state guidelines in deciding whether or not to make changes to these limits.
Is there a waitlist?
Currently, there are no plans to provide a waitlist. Registrations will be first-come, first-serve only. Spots may open up if people cancel their existing registrations, so we encourage you to periodically check the registration page for updates.
How do I cancel my registration?
We highly encourage you to cancel as soon as you know you’re no longer able to attend so that another person can register for your spot. You can easily cancel your registration online through the registration page:
Will I be notified if there is a known case during a service I attended?
Yes. All registrants will be subscribed to our text alert system that will allow us to notify you if we are made aware of any positive COVID-19 cases. You may choose to opt out of these text alerts, but we highly encourage you not to do so. All attendees will also be notified by email.
What happens if someone self-reports being positive for COVID-19?
Everyone who attended the same service will be notified that someone had tested positive.
I tested positive but have now recovered. Can I still attend Sunday service?
If you have stopped exhibiting symptoms, we ask that you get retested before registering to attend a Sunday service again. You will be asked to submit proof of a negative test result separately upon registration.
